About the role
Six-month paid internship in Geneva supporting Commodity Trade Finance and Business Management for international trading companies. The role combines relationship management, transaction execution, financing opportunities, credit analysis, collateral monitoring, sustainability projects and business development. Mentoring and exposure to senior professionals provide practical experience in commodity finance and banking.
Role and Team
- Join the Commodity Trade Finance Energy and Softs team in Geneva.
- Support Business Management projects for international trading companies based in Switzerland and abroad.
- Work within a Commodity Trade Finance team of more than 50 experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Support relationship managers with client visits, events and transaction execution.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
- Help identify and structure financing opportunities and onboard clients.
- Analyze risks and prepare credit requests for the Credit Risk Department.
- Monitor bank-financed commodity flows within the Transactional Collateral Management Team.
- Contribute to sustainability and transition strategy projects.
Candidate Profile
- Have completed at least four semesters of a bachelor's degree.
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree, with graduation no longer than six months ago.
- Achieve a minimum GPA of 4.5 under the Swiss grading system.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, communication and strategic-thinking skills.
- Show interest in financial and risk assessment, geopolitics and the financial industry.
- Be hardworking, open-minded, trustworthy, dedicated, collaborative and comfortable with tight deadlines.
