Investment Specialist – Traditional & Alternative Investments (stage)

About the role

Six-month Investment Specialist internship in Paris supporting traditional and alternative fund activities within UBS Global Wealth Management. The role combines fund analysis, investment content, Client Advisor support, manager meetings, counterparty coordination, and commercial presentation development across the Advisory and Sales department.

Responsibilities

• Meet traditional and alternative fund managers and prepare meeting notes.
• Support fund and model portfolio sales to Client Advisors.
• Write and analyse macroeconomic articles for newsletters and monthly letters.
• Analyse funds using quantitative and qualitative approaches.
• Monitor relationships with fund managers, banks, and UBS fund stakeholders.
• Create and improve commercial and marketing presentations.

Team

• Join the Investment Specialists team in Paris within UBS Europe SE, France Branch.
• Support Client Investment Specialists covering traditional and alternative funds.
• Work within the Advisory and Sales department on daily investment activities.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing Bac+4/5 at a business school, engineering school, or university, specialising in finance.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets and asset management.
• Very strong written and spoken English, with strong analytical and synthesis skills.
• Strong interpersonal and writing abilities, autonomy, rigour, and adaptability.
• Advanced Excel and VBA skills are essential; an internship agreement is required.
• Use artificial intelligence thoughtfully, validating outputs and respecting risk, policy, and ethical-use requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bloomberg proficiency is desirable.
• Previous experience in traditional, alternative, or sustainable asset management, or trading, is strongly preferred.
