About the role

The 2028 Graduate Talent Program places graduates in UBS Global Markets in Tokyo, supporting professional investors across equities, foreign exchange, interest rates, credit, derivatives, trading, sales trading, or quantitative analysis. Participants receive industry training, professional development, and may rotate across desks and business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients buying and selling equities, foreign currencies, interest rates, credit, derivatives, and other products.
  • Promote products and trading opportunities based on clients’ needs and investment styles.
  • Connect clients with traders, provide market information, and execute trades at the best prices.
  • Trade using online systems and seek the best execution prices for client sales orders.
  • Build financial-market models, analytics, and tools supporting opportunities, execution costs, risks, and desk processes.
  • Perform quantitative market-scenario analysis requested by Sales and Trading teams.

Team

  • Join the Global Markets team in Tokyo, serving professional investors including asset managers and fund managers.
  • Support securities transactions using UBS platforms, products, services, and people worldwide.
  • Potential roles include client coverage, sales trading, trading, or quantitative analysis.

Program

  • Begin with UBS Discovery, covering the financial industry, UBS activities, and working methods.
  • Receive on-the-job and off-the-job technical training covering complex information in manageable elements.
  • Access personal development opportunities to improve general job skills and broaden professional networks.
  • Potentially rotate through desks and business areas to broaden product knowledge and contacts.

Eligibility And Application

  • Graduation must occur between June 2027 and July 2028 from a university or graduate school in Japan or overseas.
  • Create a MyPage account, complete the entry sheet, answer department-specific questions, and take the mathematics and aptitude tests.
  • Submit an English résumé when applying through the UBS website.
  • Aptitude-test results remain valid for six months and cannot be retaken during selection.
  • Each candidate may create only one MyPage and UBS application account.
