About the role
Full-time campus software engineering role in New York City at Two Sigma, a quantitative investment management and trading firm. Engineers build scalable infrastructure, trading systems, data platforms, deployment environments, and productivity tools. Candidates join a general engineering role before being matched with a specific team.
Responsibilities
- Build distributed storage, cloud environments, and infrastructure used across engineering teams.
- Ensure the reliability of mission-critical products and systems, including the main trading system.
- Develop tools and environments for testing and deploying quantitative strategies.
- Build and maintain low-latency, high-performance systems responsible for executing trades.
- Scale infrastructure that ingests data from more than 10,000 sources daily.
- Partner with corporate teams to develop productivity and efficiency tools and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in a technical or quantitative field.
- Experience with Java, C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or other JVM-targeting languages.
- Experience working with large-scale systems.
- Exceptional programming skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for building quality software; financial experience is not required.
Team Matching
- Students are hired into a general software engineering role.
