About the role
Two Sigma seeks AI Research Scientist Interns for a 10-week summer program focused on applying machine learning and deep learning to financial data challenges. Candidates should be MS or PhD students with strong programming and research experience.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop techniques and infrastructure for specific projects under team guidance.
- Write code and use AI/ML tools to run experiments and analyze financial data.
- Collaborate with team members to discuss approaches and results.
- Improve understanding of financial data's impact on complex systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Pursuing MS with work experience or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or STEM.
- Excellent Python programming skills; familiarity with Rust/Java is a plus.
- Experience with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch deep learning frameworks.
- Internship or coursework experience in Deep Learning, LLMs, or Reinforcement Learning.
- Preferably experience with data pipelines handling large noisy datasets.
- Relevant research experience with publications at top ML conferences preferred.
Additional Qualifications
- Understanding of basic statistics.
- Experience with cloud computing and multi-machine setups.
- Curiosity about financial data modeling in a collaborative environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Weekly base pay: $5,000 (MS) to $5,500 (PhD) depending on degree.
