About the role

Software Developer Intern position in Montreal for Summer 2027 at Tower Research Capital, a quantitative trading firm. The role involves building and optimizing low-latency trading infrastructure, data systems, pipelines, algorithmic trading systems, and AI-assisted automation solutions for trading operations.

Responsibilities

• Optimize systems using network and systems programming and advanced techniques to minimize latency.
• Design, build, and operate systems for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets.
• Build data pipelines for reference and market data, enabling fast and accessible data retrieval.
• Develop trading systems supporting algorithmic trading.
• Improve trading operations by creating AI-assisted automation solutions and products.

Requirements

• Be a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD student in computer science or a related field.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of programming concepts and object-oriented programming.
• Know at least one development language, including C++, Golang, Java, Python, or Rust.
• Have knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Have practical working knowledge of Linux.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Additional Qualifications

• Show an interest in financial markets.
• Be proficient in both spoken and written French and English.
• Use English regularly when interacting with international English-speaking team members.
