Mergers & Acquisitions Corporate & Investment Banking Graduate Programme 2027

About the role

Two-year London graduate programme in Standard Chartered’s M&A Advisory Group. You will support live mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and capital-raising transactions while developing analytical, commercial and communication skills alongside experienced bankers in a global, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Research industries and analyse companies to support transaction execution.
• Contribute to client presentations and materials for M&A and capital-raising activities.
• Support live deals, working with coverage partners and other product groups.
• Help clients navigate complex decisions and identify growth opportunities.

Programme and Development

• Gain hands-on experience and contribute to meaningful work from day one.
• Build technical, commercial and professional skills through practical experience and structured development.
• Receive mentoring and collaborate with colleagues and clients across markets, products and functions.
• Develop understanding of clients, markets and the wider Corporate & Investment Banking business.

Eligibility and Selection

• Be in your final year of study and graduate by July 2027.
• Hold permanent legal right to work in the country where you apply.
• You may submit only one application within a six-month period.
• Assessment centres begin from October 2026 onwards; the programme starts in July 2027.

• The M&A Advisory Group provides global advisory services across a broad range of transactions.
• The team works closely with coverage partners and other product groups.
• Corporate & Investment Banking supports governments, financial institutions and corporates across more than 50 markets.
