Trading Applications Specialist

About the role

Join Squarepoint as a Trading Applications Specialist to ensure reliability of trading services, manage incidents, and innovate automation in a global team. Develop financial market knowledge and technical skills in a high-responsibility role.

Role Responsibilities

• Perform start-of-day checks to ensure smooth market openings and resolve failures.
• Monitor trading applications and execution strategies using proprietary observability tools.
• Conduct post-trade checks and resolve reporting issues.
• Manage outages impacting trading to reduce downtime.
• Lead projects onboarding new applications and automating operational tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, or similar.
• Up to 4 years experience in buy or sell side trading environments.
• Proficient with Linux, Python, and Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of asset classes like equities, fixed income, or derivatives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global team.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and solve problems.

Additional Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with kdb+/q, MSSQL, or PostgreSQL databases.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.

Compensation and Benefits

• Minimum base salary $100,000 in New York location.
• Eligible for discretionary bonuses and benefits including health, dental, and 401(k).
