About the role
Join as a Junior Commodities Fundamental Analyst supporting commodity supply and demand models, analytics tools, and market data quality across global locations.
Role Responsibilities
- Support desks in building fundamental commodity supply and demand models.
- Develop and expand analytics tools and processes for the desk.
- Produce ad hoc analysis on short-term market developments to support trade ideas.
- Evaluate and improve market data quality.
- Run and maintain fundamental data operation processes.
Typical Day
- Ensure all required data and processes are ready before market opens.
- Perform ad hoc analysis on current trade opportunities during trading day.
- Work on long-term projects to build market-leading analytical models.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Econometrics, Applied Economics or related fields.
- Experience in researching, analyzing, and modeling data, ideally via internships or related roles.
- Proficient in Python coding; Excel skills are a plus.
- Passion for investing and commodity market trends.
- Excellent writing and information synthesis skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills across multiple teams and regions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Minimum base salary $150,000 if located in New York.
- Eligible for discretionary bonuses which may be significant.
