About the role

Paid project and product management internship with Scotiabank’s Velocity Program in Toronto, running from January to April 2027. Interns will work across business, operations, technology, and product teams, supporting Agile delivery, stakeholder management, requirements definition, prioritization, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, delivery phases, versions, minimum viable products, and overall product or project outcomes.
  • Translate business, operational, and technology requirements across stakeholders, operations teams, and technology teams.
  • Develop business requirements and user stories within Agile teams, then validate them with customers and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize backlogs across multiple projects and workstreams while supporting high-quality execution.
  • Define and track key performance indicators measuring product or project success.
  • Use data to support recommendations and business decision-making.

Program Experience

  • Receive in-depth role training, ongoing coaching, and feedback throughout the work term.
  • Participate in bank-wide orientation and student events, including leadership panels and learning sessions.
  • Build networks and gain exposure to different areas of Scotiabank and Tangerine.
  • High-performing interns may receive support establishing future placements after successfully completing the work term.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, willingness to learn, and readiness to take on challenging opportunities.
  • Able to understand and document business process models.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge or experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects with timely deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Visio or project management software, Agile and waterfall methodologies, and data-driven recommendations.
