About the role
Software engineering internship/co-op with Scotiabank’s Velocity Program in Toronto, running January to April 2027. You will work with a squad to prototype and implement software solutions, apply development practices, and contribute to culture. The program includes training, coaching, student events, leadership exposure, and paid work experience.
Role Details
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: January 2027 to April 2027.
- Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a squad to deliver clean and effective software solutions.
- Create workable prototypes to illustrate concepts iteratively.
- Provide detailed specifications for use by other team members.
- Deliver high-quality implementations using software development best practices.
- Help champion culture change and experiment with new approaches.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
- Knowledge or experience with the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Database knowledge, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Programming experience with Java, JavaScript, React, C, C++, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, or comparable development tools.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or XP.
