Velocity - Cloud Engineer Internship/Co-Op - Winter 2027

About the role

Join Scotiabank’s Velocity Program as a Cloud Engineer Intern in Toronto from January to April 2027. Support cloud platform development, infrastructure, application onboarding, and highly available software. Gain hands-on experience with public cloud technologies, coding, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and enterprise engineering practices through training and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of cloud platforms, services, and components.
• Assist with code implementation, refactoring, and software reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
• Work with engineers and architects to scope, estimate, and break down tasks.
• Support application teams onboarding onto the cloud platform.
• Participate in planning meetings, retrospectives, and stand-ups.
• Learn to build and operate highly available, scalable software and infrastructure.

Technical Exposure

• Public cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform.
• Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Development or scripting languages including Go, Python, and Shell.
• Container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD tools and SQL, NoSQL, or relational database technologies.
• Unix/Linux administration and foundational cloud or infrastructure concepts.
