About the role
AI Engineer internship/co-op with Scotiabank’s Enterprise Data & AI Technology organization in Toronto. From January to April 2027, you will build production-grade AI services, deploy scalable models, develop cloud-based pipelines, solve complex data problems, and contribute to Agile delivery while receiving training and coaching.
Responsibilities
- Implement reliable, high-performance AI services and batch or real-time cloud pipelines.
- Package, deploy, monitor, and support models as scalable APIs, jobs, or agents.
- Define service-level agreements, monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks for deployed solutions.
- Participate in Agile stand-ups, planning meetings, retrospectives, and other development processes.
- Collaborate with teams to deliver data-driven solutions addressing operational needs.
- Design, develop, test, and experiment with solutions to complex technical problems.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related post-secondary program.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Azure or Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis or software development.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.
- Familiarity with AI assistants such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot in professional settings.
