GBM - Trade Floor Technology Consultant Internship/Co-op - Summer 2027 (12-16 Months)

About the role

This 16-month Toronto internship places you on Scotiabank’s Global Banking & Markets trade floor. You will develop full-stack web applications, analyze business processes, collaborate across banking teams, and work with financial data, APIs, reporting, workflow tools, security, analytics, and machine learning-related technologies while gaining capital markets exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance web-based applications supporting Global Banking & Markets trade floor activities.
• Analyze business processes and collaborate with internal groups to identify technology needs.
• Design user interfaces and implement tools supporting reporting, workflows, APIs, security, and large datasets.
• Contribute ideas to the design and implementation of evolving technology solutions.
• Gain exposure to financial products, trading technologies, and applications such as Bloomberg.

Team And Development

• Join the Trade Floor Support & Automation team within Global Banking & Markets.
• Receive in-depth role training, ongoing coaching, and feedback throughout the work term.
• Participate in student events, orientation, leadership panels, and extracurricular opportunities.
• Trade floor tours may provide insight into financial analysis, trading, and sales.
