About the role
UX/Product Design Intern/Co-op supporting Scotiabank’s Canadian Banking product ownership and design teams in Toronto. From January to April 2027, the role involves Figma-based design, user research, product roadmap support, insight analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. Students receive training, coaching, orientation, and student events during the 37.5-hour work week.
Responsibilities
- Support product ownership teams with roadmaps, pricing guides, and exception-based decision workflows.
- Create wireframes, mock-ups, high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and competitive analyses using Figma.
- Apply visual design principles while maintaining consistency with design systems and brand guidelines.
- Conduct user interviews, usability testing, survey analysis, and qualitative and quantitative research.
- Maintain user flows, experience maps, and documentation for effective design-to-development handoffs.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers through agile ceremonies, critiques, workshops, and reviews.
Development and Application
- Receive in-depth role training, ongoing coaching, feedback, bank-wide orientation, and student development events.
- Complete a PLUM Profile and save it as a screenshot before applying.
- Complete a short one-way video interview as part of the application process.
- Upload the PLUM Profile screenshot instead of a resume when applying online.
- Work 37.5 hours per week in Toronto during the January–April 2027 term.
