ACCELERATE Commercial Banking New Graduate Program - Mid-Market - June 2027 - Langley

About the role

Scotiabank’s 12-month Commercial Accelerate program develops new graduates into Commercial Bankers within the Mid-Market team in Langley. Participants gain experience in credit analysis, deal structuring, relationship management, and tailored lending, treasury, and banking solutions, supported by rotations, mentorship, workshops, feedback, and practical learning.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with commercial partners to support team strategies and objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to revenue growth within client portfolios.
• Analyze financial information, structure deals, adjudicate credit, and present complex credit proposals.
• Use analytical tools to identify client needs and recommend tailored commercial banking solutions.
• Develop knowledge of lending policies, financial analysis, risk assessment, collateral, legislation, and accounting practices.
• Apply the Bank’s operating policies, risk appetite, and risk culture to daily decisions.

Program Experience

• Complete rotational assignments and coach-supported experiences within a designated Commercial Banking business line.
• Work with peers across Canada through team projects, individual learning, and engagement activities.
• Receive support from a Program Manager, Peer Mentor, Peer Coach, and Business Coach.
• Access workshops, hands-on learning, technical training, and continuous feedback throughout the program.
• Gain exposure to mid-sized clients across manufacturing, retail, technology, and professional services.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Demonstrate financial literacy, including financial statement interpretation and understanding of credit fundamentals.
• Show genuine interest in Commercial Banking, analytics, and solving complex problems.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats.
• Demonstrate organization, attention to detail, prioritization, resilience, and a results-driven mindset.
• Be flexible, professional, eager to learn, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Mobility and Application

• Be willing to relocate within the designated region if required during the program.
