About the role

The 12-month Commercial Accelerate program develops new graduates into Agricultural Commercial Bankers through rotational, coach-supported assignments, credit training, mentorship, and hands-on learning. Based in Brandon, Manitoba, the role involves agricultural commercial credit analysis, deal structuring, client relationship development, and tailored banking solutions, with potential regional relocation after completion.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with commercial partners to support team strategies and objectives.
  • Develop internal and external networks to identify business opportunities and drive portfolio revenue growth.
  • Analyze financial information, structure deals, adjudicate credit, and present complex credit proposals.
  • Identify client needs and recommend tailored agricultural banking products and solutions.
  • Apply lending policies, risk appetite, financial analysis, collateral requirements, legislation, and accounting practices.

Program and Training

  • Complete rotational assignments and coach-supported experiences over a 12-month development program.
  • Receive training in financial and technical analysis, products, services, industry tools, and technologies.
  • Access mentorship from a Program Manager, Peer Mentor, Peer Coach, and Business Coach.
  • Participate in workshops, hands-on learning, team projects, individual learning, and cohort engagement activities.
  • Receive continuous feedback from mentors, peers, and coaches to support professional development.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business, commerce, finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • Demonstrate financial literacy, including financial statement interpretation, credit fundamentals, client needs, and agricultural banking solutions.
  • Show genuine interest and enthusiasm for agriculture, with curiosity about analytics and complex problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, strong organization, effective prioritization, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats, including analyses, presentations, recommendations, and correspondence.
  • Bring professionalism, energy, resilience, flexibility, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Mobility and Application

  • Be willing to relocate within the designated region if required during the program.
  • Post-program placement depends on business needs, although participant preferences will be considered.
