About the role

The 12-month Commercial Accelerate program develops new graduates into Agricultural Commercial Bankers through rotational assignments, credit training, mentorship, and hands-on client work. Based in Abbotsford, participants analyze financial information, structure and adjudicate credit, build commercial relationships, and support tailored lending and banking solutions for Canadian farms and agribusinesses.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with commercial partners to support team strategies and objectives.
  • Identify business opportunities and contribute to revenue growth within client portfolios.
  • Analyze financial information, structure deals, adjudicate credit, and present complex credit proposals.
  • Assess client needs and recommend tailored agriculture banking solutions using relevant tools and techniques.
  • Apply lending policies, risk assessment, collateral requirements, legislation, and accounting practices to daily decisions.
  • Support customized lending, deposit, cash management, and trade finance solutions for agribusiness clients.

Program And Training

  • Complete rotational assignments and coach-supported experiences over 12 months.
  • Receive training in financial and technical analysis, bank products, services, tools, and technologies.
  • Access workshops, hands-on learning, team projects, individual learning, and engagement activities.
  • Receive guidance from a Program Manager, Peer Mentor, Peer Coach, and Business Coach.
  • Participate in structured feedback from mentors, peers, and coaches throughout the program.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in agriculture, agribusiness, business, commerce, finance, accounting, economics, or related studies.
  • Demonstrate financial literacy, including financial statement interpretation and understanding of credit fundamentals.
  • Show genuine interest in agriculture, strong attention to detail, curiosity, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Prioritize effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform well in fast-paced, agile environments.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal analyses, presentations, recommendations, and correspondence.
  • Bring professionalism, energy, resilience, flexibility, and eagerness to learn and grow.

Mobility And Application

  • Be willing to relocate within the designated region if required during the program.
