Global Banking and Markets - Global Analytic Financial Engineering (GAFE) Intern/Co-op - Winter 2027

About the role

Winter 2027 co-op internship with Scotiabank’s Global Analytics and Financial Engineering team in Toronto. The role supports global capital markets through derivatives pricing models, quantitative trading tools, analytics, infrastructure, and desk support. Students gain exposure to derivatives businesses, financial markets, trading operations, and structured learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and testing derivatives pricing models.
• Build quantitative tools for trading and structuring desks.
• Build and maintain infrastructure processes for new business lines.
• Investigate ad hoc questions for trading and marketing desks.
• Conduct mark-to-market impact and sensitivity analysis for models.
• Support trading and sales desks in a fast-paced environment.

Team and Learning

• Work within Global Analytics and Financial Engineering in Global Capital Markets.
• Focus on one or two product areas while supporting changing business priorities.
• Potential product areas include interest rate, credit, equity, and commodity derivatives.
• Attend lectures, access documented models, and learn from traders, marketers, and analysts.
• Receive training, coaching, feedback, orientation, and access to student learning events.
