GTB - Change & Payments Modernization Internship/Co-Op - Winter 2027

About the role

Join Scotiabank’s Change & Operational Readiness team in Toronto for a Winter 2027 internship supporting a large-scale payments transformation. You will collaborate with business, technology, and operations partners while gaining practical experience in change management, operational readiness, stakeholder communications, and executive reporting within a regulated financial environment.

Responsibilities

• Support change management activities across Payments Modernization workstreams.
• Participate in stand-ups, team meetings, and walkthroughs to capture updates, risks, and actions.
• Prepare and maintain process flows, status updates, program documentation, and executive-level materials.
• Develop presentations and summaries for governance and leadership forums.
• Support operational readiness for new platform implementations and legacy system decommissioning.
• Coordinate meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups with cross-functional stakeholders.

Training and Learning

• Receive in-depth training, ongoing coaching, and feedback throughout the work term.
• Learn how large-scale transformation programs are delivered within a Tier-1 bank.
• Gain exposure to payments, clearing, and operational processes.
• Develop knowledge of change management, stakeholder communications, and executive reporting.
• Work hands-on with senior leaders and enterprise delivery teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Comfortable using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
• Interested in banking, payments, technology, or enterprise transformation.
• Extracurricular involvement in conferences, clubs, competitions, or hackathons is encouraged.
