GBM - Data & Operational Initiatives Internship/Co-op - Winter 2027

About the role

Winter 2027 internship supporting Scotiabank’s Global Capital Markets Data and Business Operational Initiatives team. The role helps manage the program office, prepare project materials, track initiatives, support stakeholder reporting, and improve data and operational efficiency while mitigating operational and financial risk.

Responsibilities

• Support project and program managers within the data and operational management team.
• Prepare project artifacts and templates connecting business practices with rules and requirements.
• Create presentation materials and progress reports for stakeholders, including senior management.
• Attend program meetings and act as meeting secretary when required.
• Maintain databases and internal tools tracking project progress, regulatory developments, and documentation.
• Conduct research and complete ad hoc projects as required.

Program Context

• Support initiatives involving change management, data efficiency, operational efficiency, and business process improvement.
• Contribute to efforts improving working capital performance and mitigating operational and financial risk.
• Work within Global Banking & Markets, supporting initiatives for Global Capital Markets senior management.
• The internship runs 37.5 hours per week in Toronto, Ontario.

Student Experience

• Receive in-depth role training, ongoing coaching, and feedback throughout the work term.
• Participate in student events, including Scotia Student Day, Lunch & Learns, and leadership panels.
• Complete bank-wide orientation and gain exposure to senior leadership across the organization.
