About the role

Investment Banking Analyst supporting client pitches and transaction execution within Scotiabank’s Global Banking and Markets group. The role involves financial modeling, valuation, company and industry analysis, prospectuses, marketing materials, and client presentations. Analysts collaborate across capital-markets teams and apply product knowledge to help corporate clients meet financing and strategic objectives.

Role and Team

• Support a broad range of investment banking transactions in a stimulating, challenging environment.
• Work within a streamlined hierarchy and small project teams with opportunities for responsibility and development.
• Collaborate with Corporate Banking, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Global Fixed Income, and Global Equity Derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Support client pitches and deal-execution efforts.
• Evaluate corporate clients’ financial needs through models, marketing materials, and presentations.
• Analyze companies and industries using valuation models, pro forma financial statements, and comparable-company analysis.
• Source data required for financial analysis.
• Draft prospectuses, marketing presentations, and client presentations.
• Apply product and capital-markets knowledge to support clients’ financial objectives.
