About the role
Scotiabank’s Corporate Banking Summer Internship in Houston supports client coverage, deal origination, lending analysis, transaction execution, and industry research, with exposure to Energy and other sectors. Interns work on multiple assignments with senior team members, develop financial models and presentations, and contribute to credit recommendations in a demanding environment.
Responsibilities
- Support client coverage, deal origination, transaction structuring, and execution efforts.
- Conduct financial analysis, advanced financial modeling, industry research, and due diligence.
- Prepare marketing materials, client presentations, Excel analyses, and PowerPoint slides.
- Assist with lending opportunity analysis, credit presentations, and internal approval recommendations.
- Collaborate with Industry Coverage, Portfolio Management, and other Bank departments.
- Manage multiple concurrent assignments and work extended hours, including weekends, as required.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in progress, with expected graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Demonstrated outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities.
- Clearly defined interest in Corporate Banking.
- Strong quantitative skills in financial analysis, accounting, and financial theory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
