Velocity - Treasury Internship/Co-op - Winter 2027

About the role

This 12-month Toronto internship supports treasury activities through transaction execution across debt, equity, and derivatives markets, financial risk monitoring, data analysis, reporting, regulatory compliance, and business-line collaboration. The Velocity program provides training, coaching, networking, and exposure to Scotiabank and Tangerine.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and executing trades across debt, equity, and derivatives markets while meeting regulatory standards.
• Monitor and manage exposure to interest-rate, liquidity, and market risks.
• Analyze financial products, pricing, and risk metrics to support decisions and portfolio performance.
• Collaborate with business lines by providing financial insights and supporting strategic initiatives.
• Ensure treasury activities comply with applicable regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare reports and documentation covering treasury activities, financial performance, and risk assessments.

Program Details

• Work term: January 2027 to December 2027, with 37.5 working hours per week.
• Receive in-depth training, ongoing coaching, feedback, bank-wide orientation, and access to student events.
• Top-performing participants may receive support establishing future placements across Scotiabank and Tangerine.
