About the role

The Trade & Working Capital Intern supports client solutions, transactions, credit assessments, and product onboarding across Canada and the United States. Working with Global Transaction Banking specialists and internal partners, the role combines client delivery, transaction structuring, risk mitigation, documentation, and operational controls during Scotiabank’s Winter 2027 work term.

Responsibilities

  • Support trade and working capital solutions for clients across Canada and the United States.
  • Prepare client pitches, analyze transactions, identify market opportunities, and support new business initiatives.
  • Support new issuances, credit facility amendments, risk assessments, and credit presentations or recommendations.
  • Review product terms and credit or legal documentation with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding of new clients with banking, risk, execution, operations, and onboarding teams.
  • Identify risk mitigation strategies and maintain operational, compliance, AML, sanctions, and conduct controls.
