About the role
Join Scotiabank’s Mid-Market Commercial Banking team in Edmonton for a January–August 2027 co-op/internship. Gain hands-on experience researching companies and industries, analyzing financial information, assessing credit risk, supporting financing decisions, and assisting client relationship teams while developing commercial banking, communication, and business analysis skills.
Responsibilities
- Support client relationship teams with research, financial analysis, administrative tasks, and project delivery.
- Conduct company and industry analysis to inform credit and business decisions.
- Assist with assessing credit risk and supporting financing decisions for mid-sized businesses.
- Partner across teams to support business outcomes and process improvements.
- Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Build and deepen relationships with clients and internal partners through a client-focused approach.
Team and Exposure
- Work with the Mid-Market team serving businesses across manufacturing, retail, technology, and professional services.
- Gain exposure to lending, treasury, banking services, financial transactions, and specialized credit analysis.
- Learn from experienced professionals in a structured, collaborative Commercial Banking environment.
- Develop understanding of how the Bank balances client needs with risk and operational considerations.
