About the role
Winter 2027 internship in Scotiabank’s Agriculture Banking team, supporting Canadian farms, producers, processors, and agribusinesses. Gain practical experience in client research, financial and industry analysis, credit activities, risk assessment, and financing decisions while developing commercial banking, analytical, communication, and professional judgment skills.
Responsibilities
- Support relationship teams with client research, financial analysis, and credit-related activities.
- Conduct company and industry analysis supporting credit and business decisions.
- Assess financing needs, risk considerations, and opportunities for agricultural and agribusiness clients.
- Learn about agricultural operations, industry trends, and factors influencing financial performance.
- Collaborate with Agriculture Banking colleagues and broader Bank partners to support client relationships.
- Consider client needs, risk appetite, and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
Training and Development
- Gain early exposure to Agriculture Banking through meaningful assignments and experienced professional guidance.
- Build knowledge of agricultural operations, agribusiness, commercial banking, credit, and financial analysis.
- Strengthen analytical, communication, presentation, collaboration, and professional judgment skills.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Demonstrate strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication and good presentation skills.
- Be client-focused, collaborative, organized, analytical, curious, flexible, and eager to learn.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured, team-oriented environment with clear deadlines.
