About the role

The 12-month Commercial Accelerate Program develops new graduates into Commercial Bankers supporting mid-sized Canadian businesses. As an Accelerate Analyst, you will gain experience in credit analysis, deal structuring, relationship management, financial solutions, and client presentations through rotational assignments, mentorship, workshops, and hands-on learning.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with commercial partners to support team strategies and objectives.
  • Identify business opportunities and support revenue growth within client portfolios.
  • Analyze financial information, structure deals, adjudicate credit, and present complex credit proposals.
  • Assess client needs and recommend tailored lending, treasury, and banking solutions.
  • Develop knowledge of lending policies, financial analysis, risk assessment, collateral, legislation, and accounting practices.
  • Apply the Bank’s operating policies, risk appetite, and risk culture to daily decisions.

Program and Development

  • Complete a 12-month program with rotational assignments and coach-supported learning experiences.
  • Receive workshops and hands-on learning designed to develop Commercial Banking skills.
  • Access mentorship from a Program Manager, Peer Mentor, Peer Coach, and Business Coach.
  • Complete training in financial and technical analysis, products, services, tools, and technologies.
  • Receive ongoing feedback from mentors and peers throughout the program.
  • Collaborate with peers across Canada through team projects, individual learning, and engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate financial literacy, including financial statement interpretation and understanding of credit fundamentals.
  • Show genuine interest in Commercial Banking, analytics, and solving complex problems.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, prioritization, professionalism, resilience, and eagerness to learn.
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in fast-paced, agile environments.

Mobility and Application

  • Be willing to relocate within the designated region if required after completing the program.
  • Post-program placement depends on business needs, although placement preferences will be considered.
  • Complete a PLUM Profile and save a screenshot.
  • Complete a short one-way video interview.
