About the role
This full-time, 12-month internship supports daily valuation operations within Scotiabank Wealth Management. The role provides hands-on experience reviewing securities pricing, researching financial markets and investment products, resolving discrepancies, preparing valuation packages, and presenting quarterly market updates to the Valuation Committee.
Responsibilities
- Review financial data, broker quotations, pricing sources, and other information across multiple asset classes.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identify securities, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Prepare daily valuation packages emphasizing accuracy, timeliness, auditability, and attention to detail.
- Research financial markets, valuation methodologies, corporate actions, and investment products.
- Collaborate with colleagues on group objectives and ongoing operational activities.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly market updates to the Valuation Committee.
Program Experience
- Gain practical knowledge of securities valuation, financial instruments, market research, and investment products.
- Receive in-depth role training, ongoing coaching, feedback, and bank-wide orientation.
- Participate in student events, including Scotia Student Day, Lunch & Learns, and leadership panels.
- Work within a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing Wealth Management team.
