About the role

Winter 2027 ScotiaMcLeod internship in Montreal supporting Advisor teams within a full-service wealth management business. The role combines client administration, account opening, prospecting support, presentations, customer service, and special projects. Interns gain exposure to Scotia Wealth Management, attend learning and networking sessions, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process client requests and open new accounts accurately, efficiently, and within required timelines.
  • Maintain client files, document information, complete follow-ups, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Liaise with internal areas to remediate client issues and support day-to-day administration.
  • Assist with presentations, communication materials, client events, special projects, and assigned initiatives.
  • Maintain strong customer service while supporting Advisor, branch, regional, and business partner teams.
  • Work collaboratively to move assigned deliverables forward and contribute ideas for improved approaches.

Business Development

  • Create, build, and maintain prospect databases and profiles.
  • Identify prospective relationships through client or partner referrals and lead lists.
  • Prepare or support marketing and presentation materials for prospecting activities.
  • Develop and strengthen prospecting relationships while supporting Advisor team objectives.

Training and Development

  • Participate in monthly learning and networking sessions across Scotia Wealth Management business lines.
  • Attend exclusive Wealth sessions to learn about the business and its teams.
  • Complete bank-wide orientation and gain exposure to senior leadership across Scotiabank.
  • Build knowledge of wealth management policies, processes, products, and services.

Work Arrangement

  • The internship runs from January through April 2027 in Montreal, Quebec.
  • The role requires 37.5 working hours per week.
  • The position involves regular collaboration with groups, individuals, and clients based in Toronto and elsewhere.
