Wealth Management - ScotiaMcLeod Internship-Co-op - Winter 2027

About the role

The ScotiaMcLeod Internship provides post-secondary students with hands-on exposure to full-service wealth management in Toronto. Interns support advisors with client administration, account opening, prospecting, presentations, events, and special projects while developing industry knowledge through networking sessions, Wealth Management learning opportunities, and bank-wide orientation.

Responsibilities

• Process client requests and open new accounts accurately, efficiently, and within required timelines.
• Maintain and document client files, information, follow-ups, and escalations as necessary.
• Liaise with business areas to help remediate client issues and support customer service.
• Assist with presentations, communications materials, client events, and other assigned initiatives.
• Support prospecting by maintaining databases, identifying potential relationships, and preparing marketing materials.
• Work collaboratively with advisors, branch teams, regional teams, and business partners on assigned deliverables.

Learning and development

• Gain direct experience in the full-service wealth management business and advisory industry.
• Participate in monthly sessions to learn and network across Scotia Wealth Management business lines.
• Attend exclusive Wealth sessions and bank-wide orientation, including exposure to senior leadership.
• Develop knowledge of policies, processes, products, services, and the broader Scotia Wealth Management organization.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize risk.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, duties, situations, and management directives.
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritize workloads against established service standards.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
