About the role
This January–April 2027 internship/co-op supports Scotiatrust Taxation Services in Montreal. The Tax Administrator prepares individual income tax returns, analyses client tax situations, researches tax rules, and recommends actions for less complex cases while maintaining regulatory, operational risk, and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare income tax returns by gathering and analysing income statements, tax slips, transactions, deductions, credits, and capital gains information.
- Discuss tax rules and elections with Tax Officers, Associate Tax Officers, and the Taxation Manager.
- Assess client tax situations, conduct detailed analysis and research, and suggest actions for less complex cases.
- Support customer-focused client relationships while following applicable policies, procedures, and governing regulations.
- Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Maintain effective controls addressing operational, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risks.
