About the role

Winter 2027 Tax Administrator internship with Scotiatrust Taxation Services in Hamilton. You will prepare income tax returns, analyze client tax situations, research tax rules, and support compliant, efficient operations. The four-month co-op runs January to April 2027, requiring current post-secondary enrollment and strong organizational, computer, writing, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare income tax returns using supporting documents, income statements, transactions, tax slips, gains, losses, deductions, and credits.
  • Discuss tax rules and elections with tax colleagues, analyze client situations, research issues, and suggest actions in less complex cases.
  • Support customer-focused service, effective operations, risk awareness, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF obligations, and business controls.
  • Work 37.5 hours per week in the Hamilton, Ontario office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, tax preparation programs, Salesforce, and Broadridge Trust System.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, customer-focused, proactive, and able to multitask with minimal direction.
  • Strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail.
