About the role

Join Schonfeld’s Systematic Strategies COO team as a Data & Business Analyst Intern in New York. You will integrate enterprise data, build AI-assisted tools, create dashboards, automate operational workflows, and support data-driven decisions. The 10-week summer internship offers exposure to systematic trading, technology, markets, and cross-functional project management.

Role Context

  • The SCOO team connects portfolio manager teams with technology, execution, operations, risk, legal, recruiting, and business services.
  • Build, enhance, and automate tools and analytics that help the Platform make faster, data-driven decisions at scale.
  • Gain exposure to systematic trading workflows, enterprise data architecture, AI/LLM development, and cross-functional project management.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate PostgreSQL, REST API, and Kafka sources into a unified analytics library for the SCOO team.
  • Design and deploy AI-assisted tools enabling non-technical stakeholders to query complex data using natural language.
  • Build dashboards and automated reports covering trading activity, vendor relationships, execution analytics, and operational KPIs.
  • Automate recurring processes such as quarterly updates, onboarding tracking, and expense reconciliation using orchestration frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Risk, Operations, Reference Data, and Execution Services teams to validate access and data quality.
  • Create ad-hoc analysis scripts and schemas, document processes, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and transparency.

Internship Program

  • The summer internship lasts 10 weeks and involves building solutions addressing real-world firm challenges.
  • Work with a dedicated manager and mentor throughout the internship and beyond.
  • Attend senior-leader learning sessions, hands-on skills workshops, networking events, and sessions covering firm functions.
