About the role

RBC Amplify 2027 is an intensive summer innovation program in Toronto for student Business Analysts. You will collaborate in a cross-functional team to research business challenges, develop a functional prototype, build a business case, and pitch your solution to RBC stakeholders, supported by mentors, subject-matter experts, and technical and professional training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on a business challenge and develop an innovative product or solution for a real RBC need.
  • Organize and manage your team’s project, including the business case, strategy, communications, and executive pitch.
  • Research, design, troubleshoot, and develop a fully functional prototype addressing the identified business challenge.
  • Support product development across stages, including design tasks and collaboration with business, data, and programming specialists.
  • Engage with subject-matter experts, mentors, executive sponsors, technology stakeholders, business stakeholders, and end users.
  • Apply design thinking, agile development, critical thinking, time management, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Program Support and Exposure

  • Access subject-matter experts, coaches, mentors, executive sponsors, technical training, professional training, and development resources.
  • Gain exposure to design thinking, agile development, and other tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Work in a flexible, startup-style environment focused on collaboration, innovation, ideation, and product development.
  • Present your completed solution to RBC stakeholders at the end of the summer program.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a college, undergraduate, master’s, or PhD program, graduating between August 2027 and June 2028.
  • Understand and communicate business values, with excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, time management, leadership, creativity, analytical thinking, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous team environment and challenge the status quo with innovative solutions.
  • Strong interest or some experience in design using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hackathons or case competitions, stakeholder engagement, end-user research, or client needs analysis.
  • Experience delivering business presentations and using project management tools such as Jira or Confluence.
  • Experience with user research, prototyping, wireframing, experience mapping, journey maps, personas, or service blueprints.
  • Experience with Figma or other design tools.
  • Understanding of financial business insights, FinTech, startup industries, or related areas.
  • Interest in emerging technology and methodologies.
