Developer, RBC Amplify 2027, Vancouver

About the role

RBC Amplify is an intensive summer innovation program for post-secondary students graduating between August 2027 and June 2028. As a Developer, you will work in a cross-functional team to research, design, build, and pitch a functional technology prototype addressing a real RBC business challenge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to develop an innovative product addressing a real RBC business challenge.
• Research, design, create, and deliver a fully functional prototype solving an identified business need.
• Use current and industry-standard technologies, working with business and technology stakeholders throughout development.
• Work with subject matter experts, mentors, executive sponsors, and stakeholders to build and refine your solution.
• Present the project to executives and stakeholders, including its strategy, communications, and proposed impact.
• Apply teamwork, critical thinking, communication, leadership, and adaptability while working through ambiguity.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in college, undergraduate, master's, or PhD studies, graduating between August 2027 and June 2028.
• Understand programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, design techniques, code management tools, or web technologies.
• Understand Agile methodologies and processes, with strong verbal, written, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Be a creative, analytical, self-driven thinker able to work in a fast-paced environment and challenge established approaches.
• Have one or more of the following: cloud, mobile development, DevOps, full-stack, service architecture, or API experience.

Nice to Have

• Hackathon experience or practical experience in web or mobile development.
• Experience presenting to stakeholders or large audiences in professional or academic settings.
• Interest in, or previous experience with, the financial services industry or FinTech.
• Experience with Agile or design thinking methodologies and frameworks.
• Experience using Figma.
