Data Engineer, RBC Amplify 2027, Vancouver

About the role

RBC Amplify is an intensive summer innovation program for students graduating between August 2027 and June 2028. As a Data Engineer, you will join a cross-functional team, address a real RBC business challenge, build a functional prototype, and pitch it to stakeholders, supported by mentors, subject matter experts, and technical and professional training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to develop an innovative product addressing a real RBC business challenge.
• Research, design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver a fully functional prototype solving a business need.
• Work with subject matter experts, mentors, and technology and business executive sponsors to build your solution.
• Apply teamwork, critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills while working effectively amid ambiguity.
• Engage in continuous learning through design thinking, agile development, and other training opportunities.
• Present your prototype, project strategy, and communications to RBC stakeholders and executives.

Program Development

• Participate in an intensive summer innovation program in a flexible, start-up environment.
• Access subject matter experts, coaches, mentors, technical resources, and professional development support.
• Develop products that address real RBC business challenges and pitch solutions to stakeholders.
• Build skills through collaboration, innovation, ideation, product development, and executive presentations.

Position Details

• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
• Full-time student or co-op position with 37.5 work hours per week.
• Employment type: Student/Co-op, fixed term.
