About the role

RBC offers an 8-month Developer Co-op internship across multiple software development roles. Candidates will collaborate on coding, design, testing, and technical support within RBC Technology & Operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and troubleshoot code aligned with strategic initiatives
• Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design
• Create and review technical design documents and facilitate project meetings
• Participate in code and test plan walkthroughs
• Conduct unit testing and improve function performance
• Plan design activities and provide third-level technical support

Requirements

• Enrolled in Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, engineering, or technology
• Leadership skills and passion for dynamic business environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Creative, analytical, and self-driven in fast-paced settings
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, and SDLC methods

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Cross-browser development experience and ability to hand-code components
