RBC offers a 4-month Winter Student Internship for software developers in Toronto, focusing on various development roles within Technology & Operations. Candidates will collaborate on coding, design, testing, and technical support in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document code components
• Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases
• Create and review technical design documents and facilitate project meetings
• Participate in walkthrough reviews of specs, code, and test plans
• Conduct unit testing and improve function performance through tuning
• Plan design and implementation activities and provide third-level technical support

Requirements - Must Have

• Enrolled in Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, engineering, or technology
• Leadership skills and passion for dynamic business environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative, analytical, self-driven, and able to work in fast-paced settings
• Strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, and SDLC methods

Requirements - Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Ability to hand-code components and cross-browser development experience
