2027 Winter Student Opportunities Technology & Operations - Software Developer, 12 Months

About the role

RBC offers a 12-month full-time co-op for software developer roles including full stack, mobile, API, and automation development. Candidates will collaborate on coding, design, testing, and technical support within RBC Technology & Operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, enhance, and document software components per design requirements.
• Translate requirements into functional specs and coordinate design phases.
• Create and review technical design documents and facilitate project meetings.
• Participate in code and unit test plan walkthroughs.
• Conduct unit testing and improve function performance through tuning.
• Plan design and implementation activities and provide third-level technical support.

Candidate Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program in computer science, engineering, or technology.
• Leadership skills and passion for dynamic business environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative, analytical, self-driven, and able to work in fast-paced settings.
• Proficient in MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, frameworks, and SDLC methods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML).
• Experience with hand-coding components and cross-browser development.
