About the role

RBC offers an 8-12 month Data Student internship in Technology & Operations for roles like Data Analyst and Data Scientist. Candidates will work on analytics projects using RBC tools and technologies, contributing to data-driven business solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects using RBC analytics tools.
• Ensure project activities meet approved time frames, scope, and budgets.
• Apply data warehouse concepts and methodologies to projects.
• Design and build data solutions using latest technologies to meet business needs.
• Contribute actively to team and RBC development community.
• Seek new tools, technologies, and processes for improvement.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work on transformational projects delivering new value.
• Participate in agile teams responsible for end-to-end business delivery.
• Lead analytics process to identify innovative insights using business knowledge.
• Promote analytics to enable RBC as a data-driven organization.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Canadian post-secondary institution focused on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or machine learning.
• Leadership acumen and passion for dynamic business environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative, analytical thinker, self-driven in fast-paced environment.
• Experience or understanding of Hadoop, Tableau, Splunk, SQL, VBA.
• Programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.

Additional Skills

• Ability to extract, transform, and load various data types.
• Perform complex data analysis on large datasets and present findings.
• Strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Proficiency in building statistical and algorithmic models with large datasets.
• Knowledge of analytics technologies, architecture, and data warehouse concepts.
• Experience with relational database concepts and design.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new business and system concepts.
