2027 Winter – GRM, AI Developer Intern - Innovation & AI Center of Excellence (4 Months)

About the role

Four-month Winter 2027 internship with RBC’s Innovation & AI Center of Excellence offers hands-on experience developing generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning solutions for risk-management workflows. The intern will work from proof of concept through production, collaborating with business users and presenting solutions to technical and senior audiences.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop AI solutions end to end, from idea design and proof of concept through production deployment.
• Translate business users’ needs into practical technical problems and iterate solutions using feedback.
• Build real-world applications improving efficiency, automation, and strategic business value in risk-management workflows.
• Keep current with AI advances and share relevant knowledge with the team.
• Present technical solutions and project updates to technical peers and senior management.

Placement Details

• Four-month Winter 2027 Student placement runs from January through April 2027.
• Candidates must return to school after April 2027 or require the full term to graduate.
• Graduating students must require the full four-month placement as a mandatory graduation component.
• The role is based in Toronto, Ontario, within Group Risk Management.

Work Arrangement

• Full-time, fixed-term Student/Co-op placement with 37.5 hours per week.
• The successful candidate must be located within Ontario throughout the work term.
• Specific virtual, hybrid, or in-office arrangements will be discussed with the hiring manager.
