About the role
Ten-week summer analyst internship in RBC Capital Markets’ Global Markets Origination, supporting Conduit Finance in Wilmington, Delaware. The role combines ABCP trading, funding, structuring, securitization transactions, market research, and client materials across US and Canadian money markets, with exposure to senior bankers, traders, and multiple Global Markets desks.
Responsibilities
- Support ABCP issuance and funding as a junior trader across RBC’s six multi-seller conduit programs.
- Assist with daily issuance, commercial paper pricing, and liability management guidelines.
- Prepare term sheets and pricing supplements for structured commercial paper note issuance.
- Create marketing pitch books for origination clients and ABCP investors.
- Research and present market trends across asset classes and peer issuers to inform business decisions.
- Support live client securitization transactions and structuring projects across origination and trading activities.
Program Experience
- Gain hands-on exposure to ABCP trading, asset origination, structured finance, and daily funding activities.
- Work closely with senior bankers and traders to understand Conduit Finance activities.
- Connect with desks across Global Markets and RBC through a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
- Support funding and structuring solutions involving traditional and non-traditional asset classes.
Requirements
- Top grades in a four-year US college or university program, with rising junior or senior status.
- Basic market knowledge and a demonstrated keen interest in capital markets.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Motivation, initiative, problem-solving ability, business sense, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of financial mathematics and related concepts.
- Technical knowledge of programming or coding languages.
- Knowledge of accounting and ability to interpret financial statements.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg.
