2027 Capital Markets, Global Equities, Winter Sales & Trading Analyst (4 Months)

About the role

Four-month RBC Capital Markets internship in Toronto’s Global Equities Sales & Trading team. The role offers hands-on exposure to equity markets, research, trading-floor activity, corporate access and institutional clients. Interns produce market updates, analyze trading activity, support projects, and work alongside sales professionals and traders in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Research Bloomberg, Reuters and online media to prepare consolidated market information and reports.
• Create morning notes, midday updates, energy and mining notes, and market-share or closing notes.
• Analyze trading volumes, values, communications and research reports to summarize trading activity.
• Support Corporate Access activities, including marketing data and events.
• Complete investment ideas, industry analysis and client analysis projects.
• Liaise with equity sales professionals and traders on assignments and process improvements.

Exposure and Development

• Gain exposure to Global Equities Sales & Trading functions at a top-tier investment bank.
• Learn from equity sales, coverage, hedge fund, electronic, portfolio, liability and derivatives trading professionals.
• Develop knowledge of market conditions, equities, investor behavior and trading-floor dynamics.
• Build research-tool proficiency using Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, Symphony, DS Book and RBC Insight Research.
• Develop understanding of investment strategies, financial instruments, commodity markets and equity transactions.
• May attend relevant conferences, company meetings, analyst presentations and conference calls virtually.

• Office hours are tied to global markets and may run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
