About the role

Join RBC's Credit Modeling and Methodology team as a Winter 2027 Analyst Intern. Support credit risk model validation, monitoring, and regulatory compliance in a collaborative environment. Gain experience with AIRB and IFRS 9 models over a 4-month paid internship in Toronto.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support AIRB PD, LGD, and EAD validation remediation through data reconciliation and issue analysis.
  • Contribute to quarterly model monitoring and validation processes.
  • Assist in ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Help advance modeling programs to meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Collaborate with experienced credit risk professionals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program focused on data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or machine learning.
  • Programming skills in Python, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect patterns and anomalies.
  • Excellent writing skills for regulatory and audit documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams on ambiguous projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of banking and commercial lending products.
  • Experience processing or manipulating large data sets efficiently.

Program Details

  • 4-month paid internship from January to April 2027.
  • Must return to school after internship or require the full 4-month term to graduate.
  • Located in Ontario with flexible work arrangements.
  • 37.5 hours per week, full-time, salaried position.
