About the role
Join RBC's Group Risk Management team as a Data & AI Intern to design AI/ML solutions for liquidity risk management in a regulated, data-rich environment. This 4-month winter internship starts January 2027 in Toronto.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy AI models including large language models to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure AI solutions use scalable, modern data infrastructure.
- Work with stakeholders, data scientists, and engineers to align AI initiatives with goals.
- Utilize latest technologies and tools to develop data and AI solutions.
- Continuously seek new tools, technologies, and processes to improve work.
- Contribute actively to team and RBC's broader development community.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in Canadian post-secondary institution in data science, computer science, math, statistics, or machine learning.
- Programming skills in Python.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML development.
- Familiarity with AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
- Creative, analytical, self-driven, and able to work in fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial or risk management domain.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new business and system concepts.
Program Details
- 4-month winter internship from January to April 2027.
- Must return to school after internship or require full 4-month term to graduate.
- Located in Ontario for duration of work term.
- Full-time, salaried position with 37.5 hours per week.
