About the role

Join RBC as a Risk Analyst Student Intern in Group Risk Management for a 4-month winter term. Support operational risk activities, risk assessments, and training development while enhancing operational efficiency.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support operational risk management activities in the 1LOD Business Unit Operational Risk Management team.
  • Update ORM program records in Archer and validate job aid/desktop procedures.
  • Review change initiative risk assessments and document risk register linkages.
  • Monitor 2LOD oversight requests and policy adherence breaches for resolution.
  • Manage and monitor IT and Maverick findings centrally.
  • Develop operational risk communications and training materials for stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops to provide risk education and awareness.
  • Identify opportunities to increase operational efficiency and cost savings.
  • Recommend process simplifications and support transformational projects.
  • Design and build data solutions using latest technologies to meet business needs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in risk and control management, review, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate) and PowerPoint.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset focused on streamlining and efficiency.
  • Adaptability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience in artificial intelligence (AI).

Program Details

  • 4-month winter student placement from January to April 2027.
  • Must be returning to school after April 2027 or require the full 4-month term to graduate.
  • Located in Ontario for the duration of the work term.
  • Full-time, salaried position with 37.5 work hours per week.
