About the role
The GRM Data Scientist Intern at RBC will develop and enhance AML transaction monitoring solutions using machine learning and network analysis to identify suspicious activities and elevated client risks.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and tune AML transaction monitoring models using machine learning and data science.
- Enhance AML analytics with advanced network analysis features.
- Present model results with clear visualizations to AML Analytics Director.
- Develop documentation and monitoring methodology for models.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and remediate risk exposure.
- Identify industry best practices and new technologies for AML monitoring.
Requirements
- Strong data, analytical, and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Proficiency with SQL databases and GitHub.
- Experience with supervised/unsupervised learning, network analysis, and NLP.
- Ability to translate project needs into detection models.
- Excellent communication skills for non-technical audiences.
Program Details
- 8-month student placement from January to August 2027.
- Must be returning to school after placement or require full 8-month term to graduate.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, located in Ontario.
