About the role

RBC Insurance offers a 4-16 month winter co-op for Business and Data Analysts supporting change initiatives and data-driven projects in insurance. Candidates will gain hands-on experience in process improvement, data analytics, and compliance within a dynamic team environment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support change initiatives and projects ensuring efficient implementation of business solutions.
  • Develop and review processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with licensing applications and maintain client and licensing records.
  • Collaborate with Channel Design and Initiative Delivery teams on distribution channel projects.
  • Clean and review data within Salesforce to enhance platform efficiency.
  • Participate in product transition processes including release planning and UAT testing.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Design data-driven solutions supporting CIO office strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Data Security Standards and data classification.
  • Develop and monitor controls for compliance and risk management.
  • Document and upgrade process manuals and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and product development teams for issue resolution.
  • Collect, review, analyze, and evaluate business user needs.

Requirements - Must Have

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Finance, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Knowledge of building, documenting, and assessing processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively.

Requirements - Nice to Have

  • Experience with reporting tools like Tableau and CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with issue-tracking tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Actuarial and insurance industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of claims and insurance policy factors.
  • Experience with regulatory data standards and investment asset management tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Power BI.
