About the role
This four-month Winter 2027 co-op in Toronto supports RBC’s Capital Markets Financial Risk team within the Chief Audit Executive/Internal Audit Group. The role combines internal audit, market and counterparty credit risk analysis, data visualization, and Generative AI development across RBC entities globally.
Responsibilities
- Develop Generative AI agents to improve audit process efficiency and support data-driven analysis.
- Analyze business requirements and select appropriate analytical tools with subject matter experts.
- Analyze data and develop Tableau dashboards for technical audits covering market and counterparty credit risk.
- Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders as a trusted advisor.
Team and Opportunity
- Support independent, objective assessments of market risk and counterparty credit risk practices.
- Gain exposure to RBC entities across Canada, the United States, Europe/UK, and APAC.
- Receive development support through coaching and management from leaders.
- Network with students across Canada and contribute to meaningful work in a collaborative team.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Work toward a university degree in finance, business, computer science, or a related field.
- Have experience writing code using general-purpose programming languages; Python is a strong asset.
- Have experience with prompt engineering and developing solutions using Generative AI tools.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bring excellent writing and research skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conceptual thinking.
- Return to school after the work term, or require the full term to graduate successfully.
Additional Assets
- General understanding and awareness of capital markets or financial risk concepts.
